THE EVOLUTION OF GUN GIRL
GUN GIRL, 2018
Gun Girl was a drawing inspired by Junji Ito. At 16 years old, I was obsessed with gore art and wanted to make something that made people’s skin crawl. This piece was also inspired by another piece of art I saw but it’s been so long since I’ve seen it, and I can’t locate it now. I’d also like to call attention to the mistakes made in this drawing. My skill 4 years ago isn’t as good as my skill now. There are anatomical mistakes, and I’d do a few things differently, but I love this drawing because it’s one of the first pieces of art I created that I was really proud of. There was also a certain madness I had at 16 that I just simply can’t recreate now.
Original drawing made with ink on sketch paper. Digital drawing made with Adobe Draw (on my cellphone lol).

GUN GIRL’S REVENGE, 2022
An old fashioned movie poster inspired drawing titled “GUN GIRL’S REVENGE.” I wrote the title with font inspired by Neon Genesis Evangelion and Japanese writing saying “gun girl” which showcases my love and appreciation for anime and its influences on my artwork. She is also drawn headless to reference the first Gun Girl drawing.
Made on Procreate.

GUN GIRL’S REVENGE: THE MOVIE, 2022
In my Digital Art Fundamentals class, we were tasked to create a mock movie poster about anything we wanted using the software that we learned that semester (this included Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign). Being the creative, innovative artist that I am (please see the sarcasm here), I created a movie poster about Gun Girl.
Software used: Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop

GUN GIRL: re, 2023
GUN GIRL: re is the newest installment to the Gun Girl series. In my Drawing Fundamentals II class, we were tasked to create a drawing using pastels to reflect or elicit emotion in response to current events. I thought Gun Girl would be perfect for this assignment because I could make a statement about violence upon women, and how they are ultimately silenced in their most dire time of need. I realized with this drawing (and my multi-self portrait) that I have a specific approach when it comes to using chalk pastel, and I love it.
Made with chalk pastel on toned grey paper.
