GUN GIRL, 2018

Gun Girl was a drawing inspired by Junji Ito. At 16 years old, I was obsessed with gore art and wanted to make something that made people’s skin crawl. This piece was also inspired by another piece of art I saw but it’s been so long since I’ve seen it, and I can’t locate it now. I’d also like to call attention to the mistakes made in this drawing. My skill 4 years ago isn’t as good as my skill now. There are anatomical mistakes, and I’d do a few things differently, but I refuse to redraw this because it’s one of the first pieces of art I created that I was really proud of. There was also a certain madness I had at 16 that I just simply can’t recreate now.
